Chief Financial Officer, Student Living

As chief financial officer for CA’s student living vertical, Rob is responsible for the financial operations and capital strategy of the company, leading the firm’s financial reporting and analysis and accounting functions and providing leadership in the firm’s equity and debt capital markets strategies. Rob collaborates with other members of the executive team to establish the strategic direction for the company in development, investments, operations and capitalization. He is responsible for ensuring that the company achieves its strategic goals and maximizes returns to the company and its investment partners. 

Prior to joining CA, Rob served as Chief Financial Officer of Novel Coworking, a private equity real estate company focused on flexible office, where he was a member of the firm’s senior leadership team and investment committee and led the firm’s equity and debt capital relationships, investor relations, financial reporting and asset management functions. 

Rob was formerly President and CFO of Kaufman Jacobs, a multi-strategy real estate investment manager with more than $1 billion of assets under management, and served as the firm’s managing principal, overseeing all aspects of the firm’s operations, including capital sourcing, acquisitions, development and financial reporting. Before Kaufman Jacobs, Rob was President of Rubicon US REIT, Inc., a real estate investment trust holding a $2 billion portfolio of real estate properties and debt. Rob is a CFA charterholder and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management and Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and German from the University of Illinois.
