Bringing over a decade of commercial real estate experience to the CA student living team, as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, Emily Kolodgy Baum heads the division’s debt capital markets, originating all new debt, serving as relationship manager to its diverse lending partners and working to source new debt partnerships, and overseeing management of its portfolio.

Prior to joining CA in 2016, Emily served as Associate Managing Director for the commercial real estate unit of The PrivateBank, which she joined after completing its credit training program for commercial bankers. By the time she left The PrivateBank in 2016, Emily had been responsible for originating more than $230 million in loans the year before. 

In 2018, Emily was highlighted as one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ ​“20 in their 20s” – a prestigious award that recognizes the hard work of rising stars in the Chicago area. 

Emily earned a BA in Economics from Fordham University.
